Day by day
Day 1San José
Private transfer from Juan Santamaría International Airport to your hotel in San José. Welcome at the arrivals area by one of our representatives. Approximate duration 30 minutes.
Day 2San José – Tortuguero
We depart very early toward Tortuguero via the Braulio Carrillo Highway, which showcases its majestic nature. We stop in Guápiles for a delicious breakfast and continue to the boarding point, where we begin our boat adventure that allows us to see the great variety of flora and fauna in this jungle area. In the afternoon we head to the Town of Tortuguero, where we appreciate its varied handicrafts. Accommodation in Tortuguero.
Day 3Tortuguero
We start the day with a hike along the lodge trails to appreciate the lush tropical rainforest, where nature lovers observe numerous species of birds, mammals, and reptiles. In the afternoon we continue admiring the wonders of the Caribbean on a tour of the Tortuguero Canals, known as the "Amazon of Costa Rica". During season (July to October), opportunity to witness the nesting of sea turtles that give the area its name.
Day 4Tortuguero – Arenal / la Fortuna
Boat departure through the Tortuguero canals. Lunch in Guápiles before continuing to the next destination. Shared shuttle transfer from Guápiles to Arenal / La Fortuna, approximate duration ~3h, with stops at the main hotels in each area.
Day 5Arenal / la Fortuna
Free day to enjoy the area. Options: visit Arenal Volcano National Park, relax in hot springs (Baldi, Tabacón, Ecotermales), zip-lining, hanging bridges, rafting, horseback riding, a visit to the La Fortuna Waterfall, or explore the Venado Caverns.
Day 6Arenal / la Fortuna – Monteverde
Transfer via the Car-Boat-Car system across Lake Arenal: an overland stretch to the dock, a lake crossing enjoying views of the volcano and the mountains, and a final stretch on to Monteverde.
Day 7San José
Free day to explore the capital: visit the National Theater, the Pre-Columbian Gold Museum, the Central Market with its varied cuisine, or stroll through the historic neighborhoods of Barrio Amón and Escalante.
Day 8SJO Airport
Private transfer from your hotel to Juan Santamaría International Airport at the time indicated for your return flight. Approximate duration 30 minutes.
