Jour par jour

Jour 1San José

Private transfer from Juan Santamaría International Airport to your hotel in San José. Welcome at the arrivals area by one of our representatives. Approximate duration 30 minutes.

Jour 2San José — Full Day At Braulio Carrillo (6x1)

The country's most complete eco-adventure package in a single day, within the limits of Braulio Carrillo National Park and its private rainforest reserve. Soar through the forest canopy on an aerial tram (40 minutes up, 40 minutes down), experience an adrenaline rush on 10 zip lines with 14 platforms—including the 700-meter line that crosses the canyon—and traverse the 35-meter hanging bridge for a unique perspective. The experience is complemented by a butterfly garden, a herpetarium, an orchid garden, and a naturalist-guided tour. Suitable from age 5 (maximum weight 136 kg).

Jour 3San José – Arenal / la Fortuna — Pacuare River Rafting

An epic journey down one of the world's most spectacular rivers, where adventure and pure nature combine in a single day. Navigate 18 miles and 52 Class II-III rapids through the majestic Pacuare Gorge, with legendary sections like Terciopelo Snake and Double Drop, while toucans, sloths, and morpho butterflies accompany you from the tropical forest. Midway through, the Huacas waterfall plunging 150 feet beside the river takes your breath away. The adventure ends at the Exploration Center in Siquirres, with hot showers, change of clothes, and a toast to relive the experience before your return. Finally, drop-off transfer to your hotel in Arenal / La Fortuna. Shared shuttle transfer from the Central Valley to La Fortuna de San Carlos, home to Arenal Volcano. Tour through Costa Rica's northern region with views of the volcanic mountain range. Approximate duration 3.5 hours with stops at major hotels.

Jour 4Arenal / la Fortuna — Arenal Volcano Hike With Hot Springs + Dinner (Baldi)

Explore the northwestern flank of Arenal Volcano along the El Silencio viewpoint trail, where ancient lava flows peek through the vegetation and Lake Arenal appears in the distance just as the sun sets. A bilingual naturalist guide reveals the history of this massive volcano and the fauna of the National Park. End your day immersed in the thermal waters of Baldi, the zone's most complete complex with pools at different temperatures and water slides, and enjoy dinner with a view of the volcano. An experience that captures in a single day everything that distinguishes La Fortuna: adventure, nature, and relaxation.

Jour 5Arenal / la Fortuna — Horseback Ride to la Fortuna Waterfall + Kayaking On Lake Arenal

A classic combination of horseback riding and hiking to reach one of Costa Rica's most photographed waterfalls. Well-trained and gentle horses carry riders through forest areas and hills with valley views until the waterfall trail entrance. From there, you descend on foot to the base, where a natural pool surrounded by rocky cliffs invites a refreshing swim beneath the 70-meter cascade. Free time to swim and photograph before the return hike. Suitable for all levels, even horseback riding beginners. Paddle peacefully across the mirror-like waters of Lake Arenal with the imposing volcano dominating the horizon—one of Costa Rica's most sought-after postcards. During the journey, you'll likely spot kingfishers diving, blue herons fishing along the shore, and pintails, while howler monkeys roar in the surrounding forest. The naturalist guide shares the history of the country's largest artificial lake and the fauna that inhabits it. Includes kayak equipment, tropical fruits, and beverages. Perfect for beginners; no prior experience required.

Jour 6Arenal / la Fortuna — Arenal Canyoning

Ready to experience the most popular canyoning and waterfall rappelling in La Fortuna. Our professional and certified guides have guided thousands of clients of all ages through our canyon to live the adventure of their lives. This half-day canyoning tour will take you deep into the canyon to experience a series of waterfall descents and activities such as rock climbing and the "Monkey Drop"—you will get wet! Keep your eyes open for the chance to see toucans, sloths, monkeys, and other exotic wildlife. Before or after your adventure, depending on your tour schedule, we serve a delicious typical lunch fresh from our garden at our Purrete headquarters (we offer gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options).

Jour 7Arenal / la Fortuna – Monteverde

Transfer via the Car-Boat-Car system across Lake Arenal: an overland stretch to the dock, a lake crossing enjoying views of the volcano and the mountains, and a final stretch on to Monteverde.

Jour 8Monteverde — Guided Tour to Monteverde Reserve + Extreme Park Canopy Tour

Costa Rica's most emblematic cloud forest reserve, with over 10,415 protected hectares and one of the planet's most extraordinary biodiversities. On its trails you can discover more than 500 orchid species in the canopies of century-old trees, alongside ferns, lichens, and mosses. Home to 400 bird species—including the legendary Quetzal—30 hummingbird species, 130 mammal species, and 5,000 moth species. An essential experience for true nature lovers guided by bilingual experts. Monteverde's most extreme canopy, featuring 16 zip lines between 75 and 150 meters above the cloud forest with views of a waterfall. Five of the lines are extremely long: 467, 425, 600, 750 meters, and 1 kilometer. The adventure includes at no extra cost a 30-meter rappel, an 80-meter Tarzan Swing, an aerial 1-km Superman, and an Underground Superman through a 240-meter tunnel beneath the mountain. Modern equipment, expert guides, and safety briefing before departure.
