The tour takes place in the mysterious and fascinating Sierpe-Terraba mangroves, its mangrove forests are intact and are the largest in the Pacific of Costa Rica. During the tour you will be able to venture into a beautiful labyrinth of canals and rivers while we look for the fascinating fauna of the region from the comfort of the boat. These flooded forests are home to almost 100 species of birds, including the endemic mangrove hummingbird, which is found nowhere else in the world.
Boat tours leave from the beach in front of the Hotel Rancho Corcovado; the trip to the mouth of the mangrove estuary is approximately 25 minutes. During the journey through the spectacular mangroves you can enjoy a prolific wildlife with a large number of reptiles that include alligators, crocodiles, iguanas, among others. Mammals are also very common and it is very likely to observe three different species of monkeys (howlers, squirrels and white-faced capuchins), as well as sloths, as well as other species of animals characteristic of the area.
